Helios Yellow Dog Linux v5.0 for PS3
L 'Helios German software company has set itself on the market for console, specialemte homemade sony with the idea of changing the PlayStation 3 in a home server.
Helios states that it has released a version of Yellow Dog Linux v5.0, able to run on PS3, implementing the software you need to exploit the Sony console as a print server, images, files and PDF documents.
The Yellow Dog v5.0 is installed from a CD in just over 5 minutes and once started, can save about 40% less RAM than the original version. The release includes a DHCP server, Java 1.5 and AppleTalk and software for managing and displaying PDF files.

Yellow Dog Linux 5.0 was developed by Terra Soft, which sells versions of PS3 with Linux pre-installed and clusters of servers based on the famous console. To make sony PS3 suitable as a server is its Cell processor to 3.2 GHz, the network adapter Gigabit Ethernet el'hard removable disk with SATA interface.
